About us

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is an international lay Catholic organization founded to serve those in need.  Our group is associated with St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Sugar Grove, Illinois.  To help those in our area, we visit the homes of people who ask for assistance.  In these person-to-person encounters, we offer a listening ear, emotional and spiritual support, and material help.  This includes addressing financial needs and offering advice on how to access social services.

If you need help

If you are in need, please call contact us.  You may reach us by email at svdpsugargrove@gmail.com, or by calling our help line at 630-466-8833. Someone will respond to your request within 24 hours.

Typically, the kind of help we are able to offer is short-term assistance with bills, such as rent, a mortgage payment, utilities, medical bills, car repair, or other expenses.  In addition to what we may be able to provide, you may find other help here:  (Resources)

Our group makes no judgments about your situation, and you need not be a member of our church to receive aid.  We are here to serve you as good neighbors and friends.
